It’s Mars’ 10th entry into YouTube’s Billion Views Club, and Gaga’s fourth.

If the party was over and our time on Earth was through… could you say you’ve watched Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile” video?

YouTube’s answer is a resounding yes.

Released just over eight months ago, the star-powered music video has officially surpassed 1 billion views on the platform, cementing its place among the internet’s most-watched clips. The duet debuted alongside the video on August 16, following its explosive live premiere during Mars’ venue-opening show at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

The country-themed visual — with Mars donning an off-white cowboy hat and Gaga sporting a towering bouffant and a never-quite-extinguished cigarette — captivated audiences with its gritty retro aesthetic and cinematic drama. That allure, combined with the unmatched chemistry of the pop heavyweights, helped catapult the song to five consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, starting January 11.

also features on Gaga’s chart-topping album Mayhem, released last month, and earned the duo a 2025 Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in February.

The milestone marks Bruno Mars’ 10th video to reach the Billion Views Club — a testament to his enduring global appeal. It’s Lady Gaga’s fourth, further reinforcing her icon status in the digital age. For Mars, it’s also his second billion-view video of the year, following the success of “APT.,” his duet with BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ, which became the fifth-fastest video ever to reach the billion mark earlier this year (105 days). For comparison, Adele’s “Hello” still holds the record, hitting 1 billion in just 87 days back in 2015.

If you haven’t joined the billion-strong crowd yet — or just want to hit replay — the “Die With a Smile” video is waiting for you.
