Hexa, the renowned startup studio that gave birth to B2B SaaS unicorns like Aircall and Spendesk, is unveiling its latest lineup of startups poised to disrupt industries ranging from healthcare and legal tech to AI and cybersecurity compliance.

Formerly known as eFounders, Hexa has built its legacy on launching and scaling high-potential B2B startups. The model is straightforward but effective: Hexa generates startup ideas, matches them with founders, and nurtures the early-stage companies through product development, hiring, strategy, and fundraising. In return, Hexa maintains a 30% equity stake post-seed round—a figure that might seem steep, but one that has historically translated into serious success.

With 44 companies already launched and a $22 million fundraise in 2023 to fuel further growth, Hexa is now broadening its focus. Its latest batch reflects the studio’s growing interest in verticals like AI, healthcare, and open-source solutions—pushing beyond its traditional SaaS roots.

A Closer Look at Hexa’s Next Generation of Startups

    Annette

Breaking away from B2B software, Annette targets individuals with a BMI over 30 or type 2 diabetes. The app complements GLP-1 medications like Wegovy or Mounjaro, offering users access to progress tracking and expert consultations, aiming to enhance long-term outcomes through tech-driven weight management.

    Basalt

For prompt engineers, Basalt is the productivity tool of 2024. It allows users to test prompts across LLMs, compare outputs, and iterate faster. As AI models evolve, Basalt positions itself as a must-have solution for maintaining prompt quality over time—taking on rivals like WorkflowAI.

    DermaScan

In response to the shortage of dermatology appointments, DermaScan combines software and physical care centers to enable regular skin cancer screenings. It’s a bold step into healthcare, featuring proprietary tech to support early detection efforts in France.

    FieldX (code name)

Optimizing the sales rep experience, FieldX introduces a voice-first interface to reduce app-jumping and admin overload. Think of it as a smart copilot for on-the-go field sales professionals.

    LegalX (code name)

LegalX joins the growing crowd of legal AI tools, aimed at automating the grunt work of law firms—annotating, summarizing, and extracting key insights from dense legal documents using large language models.

    OpenCertiX (code name)

Challenging heavyweights like Vanta and Drata, OpenCertiX is building an open-source platform for achieving compliance with frameworks like SOC 2. The vision extends to additional certifications, aiming to democratize security compliance.

    Reki

Reki makes it easier for startups in France to apply for nondilutive funding like R&D tax credits and industry-specific grants. By using AI to streamline and automate applications, Reki slashes the time and effort required from days to mere hours.

    SleepX (code name)

Targeting women suffering from insomnia, SleepX will offer a personalized digital health program combining CBT-I with hormonal, psychological, and biological data—an ambitious attempt to replace sleeping pills with sustainable wellness.

    StandardX (code name)

StandardX reimagines voice-based customer support using the latest in speech recognition, LLMs, and text-to-speech. It seeks to transform tedious call center interactions into intelligent, ERP-connected conversations.

    Tandem

Tandem tackles onboarding—an essential, yet often overlooked, component of SaaS adoption. By offering AI-guided onboarding journeys tailored to each user, Tandem helps customers get value quickly, while reducing support tickets for companies.

    What’s Next for Hexa?

While Hexa previously flirted with the idea of spinning out vertical-specific accelerators like 3founders and Logic Founders, the studio has since streamlined its branding. Now, everything falls under the Hexa umbrella.

Co-founder and CEO Thibaud Elzière remains optimistic about the model. With several portfolio companies expected to hit €100–€300 million in annual revenue in the coming years, Hexa’s startup assembly line appears far from slowing down.

Whether it’s AI, health, compliance, or customer success, the new wave of Hexa startups signals a broader ambition—to not only define the future of work but improve the human condition while they’re at it.
