Young Thug is back—and he’s making sure the world feels it.

The Atlanta rap icon is preparing to release Uy Scuti, his first full-length album since being released from jail last year. While the exact date remains under wraps, Thug has confirmed it’s coming this month. And as fans wait in anticipation, he’s already kicked off one of the strangest marketing rollouts hip-hop has seen in recent memory.

In an eerie and unexpected move, select media outlets and influencers received mysterious packages tied to the album’s campaign. When opened, the boxes revealed a live spider inside—along with a haunting message: “Take care of me until we reach UY SCUTI.” The symbolism is as cryptic as it is captivating, matching Thug’s unpredictable and theatrical style.

So far, only one official single from the project has been released: “Money on Money,” a high-energy collaboration with Future. The track reasserts Thug’s signature chaotic brilliance—but it’s also turning heads for something else: its lyrics.

Throughout the song, Thug appears to fire subliminal shots at his former YSL affiliate, Gunna, who took an Alford plea in the ongoing RICO trial that’s gripped the hip-hop world. On the hook, Thug raps,

“These fuck n-ggas tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends.” He adds further fuel with verses like, “Brother, you a rat,” and “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh,” doubling down on the accusations many believe are aimed directly at Gunna

Despite the pointed lyrics, Thug played it coy in a recent GQ interview when asked about their current relationship.

“I know everybody wonders [what our relationship is like now]. I don’t know,” he said, leaving fans to speculate

It’s not the first time Thug has alluded to betrayal. In an earlier Instagram snippet, he rapped: “Never associate with a rat/ Go and get some money, get a pack.” The tension between the two artists—once seen as inseparable—remains one of the most talked-about dynamics in rap.

But Uy Scuti isn’t all beef and bars. In another preview from the upcoming album, Thug touches on his relationship with singer Mariah The Scientist. In a raw, lo-fi clip recorded inside an empty bathtub, he raps:

“I told her I won’t cheat again/ Took her up the [inaudible] Benz/ I’m on a million dollar streak again”

The line offers a rare moment of vulnerability from an artist who’s known for keeping his personal life tightly sealed.

With Uy Scuti, Young Thug isn’t just releasing an album—he’s crafting an experience. Whether it’s live spiders, cryptic messages, emotional confessions, or coded verses, Thugger is reminding the world that his return is far from ordinary. The only thing more unpredictable than his lyrics might be what happens next.
