MGNA Crrrta, the NY-based musical duo of Farheen Khan and Ginger Scott, has become a force of nature within the experimental music scene, fusing glitchy beats, pixelated synths, and unpredictable melodies to craft an entirely unique listening experience. With their recent offerings, including Constitution 2 and the Island Paradise: The Remixes, MGNA Crrrta explores a dynamic sonic landscape that is both disorienting and intoxicating, pulling listeners into a world where chaos and beauty collide.
Their sound, like their personalities, is a blend of two halves becoming whole. Farheen explains their collaborative process, “When we tell a story, I’ll tell one part, and then Ginger will tell the other part. And we’ll bounce off each other.” This back-and-forth interplay defines their music, which feels like a constant conversation between two kindred spirits. With influences drawn from the frenetic energy of New York and their own shared history, which dates back to meeting on a Minecraft server at just 11 years old, MGNA Crrrta is more than just a music project—it’s a continuously evolving story that bridges the digital with the physical, the synthetic with the organic.

Their debut album Constitution 2 introduced the world to their fractured beats and fleeting refrains, but it’s the follow-up Island Paradise that shows the duo’s growth and willingness to push boundaries. Released in 2023, Island Paradise captures the lightness and warmth of the summer months with its hazy, ethereal qualities. And as if that wasn’t enough, Island Paradise: The Remixes takes things up a notch, featuring remixes by Clip, Rada, Fear Dorian, and Polo Perks that breathe new life into the already entrancing original tracks. For Ginger, remixing offers a chance to deepen the emotional impact of the music:
“I feel remixing gives a whole new perspective on something. It gives so much more feeling and depth to things”
Currently on their Summer Vacation Tour, MGNA Crrrta is preparing to make waves at the inaugural And Always Forever festival in Los Angeles this November, where they’ll share the stage with bands like The Swirlies, Marie Davidson, and Schwefelgelb. The festival promises a collision of shoegaze and experimental electroclash, a perfect environment for MGNA Crrrta’s eclectic sound.
While they’ve already made a mark in the indie scene, MGNA Crrrta is also embracing the warm, sunny vibes of California, feeling at home amidst the light and reflections of the West Coast. “It’s the sun on your hair and on your skin, and just the sun in general, it twinkles,” says Farheen. It’s no surprise then that the duo’s music mirrors the feelings of freedom and carelessness that summer evokes, capturing moments that are as fleeting as they are beautiful.

For MGNA Crrrta, music is more than just sound—it’s about feeling. From the breeze on your face to the sensation of sunlight on your skin, their music transports you to a world where the everyday becomes extraordinary. “It’s about experiencing crazy, surreal experiences in life through nature, the city, and everything around us,” Ginger explains. It’s a philosophy that underscores the duo’s mission: to remix not only the music world but also the very fabric of life itself.
In a world that is constantly moving, MGNA Crrrta asks us to pause, take in the moment, and truly feel. And maybe, just maybe, music is the second chance we all need to experience life anew.
