The mystery surrounding Ingrid took a dark and emotional turn in the April 6 episode of Watson, when her true identity and backstory were finally revealed.
In the episode, Ingrid (played by Eve Harlow) brought her sister Gigi to the Holmes Clinic in a desperate attempt to save her life. But as the urgency unfolded, Watson (Morris Chestnut) began piecing together inconsistencies in Ingrid’s story. Through a series of flashbacks, it was revealed that Ingrid had previously crossed paths with Watson’s estranged wife, Mary (Rochelle Aytes), when Gigi was first hospitalized with a spinal injury.
Mary had advocated for Gigi, who was a victim of abuse at the hands of their father, but was ultimately unable to perform a life-saving surgery. This event left Gigi paraplegic and caused a deep rift. It was then disclosed that Ingrid, enraged and desperate, killed their father days after Gigi was admitted to the hospital — an act that had been foreshadowed all season.
“I was told from the beginning that Ingrid killed her dad,” Harlow shared. “That core motivation — protecting her sister — remained consistent, even as other plot details evolved”
Mary’s discovery of Ingrid’s past prompted her to exile Ingrid from the clinic, but Harlow isn’t worried about what that means for her character. “She has a very difficult time hearing ‘no’ and having anything taken from her. What you’ll see next is her manipulating situations to her advantage — classic Ingrid.”

As the season heads toward its finale, the layers of Ingrid’s character are becoming more complex. Harlow emphasized that she never approaches her characters with judgment. “Even when I play a villain, I don’t think of them that way. Ingrid killing her father wasn’t evil — it was about protecting someone she loves.”
The stakes are raised even further now that Moriarty (Randall Park) has entered the picture, bringing with him a new kind of danger that even the calculating Ingrid didn’t anticipate.
“For the first time, Ingrid is the one feeling out of control,” Harlow explained. “Usually, she’s the one pulling the strings. But Moriarty brings unpredictability and genuine threat. This forces her into a desperate scramble to regain power”

Despite the intensity on screen, Harlow had high praise for her co-star Randall Park. “He’s just the sweetest. He told me, ‘I think you’d be great in comedy.’ That was one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever received.”

Based on the legacy of Sherlock Holmes, Watson picks up six months after the great detective’s death at the hands of Moriarty. As Watson attempts to heal and lead a clinic for rare disorders, the past — and people like Ingrid — come back to haunt him in unexpected ways.
