“That man loves me so much”
Someone go ahead and cue Taylor Swift’s Love Story, because Duchess Meghan is letting the world know that the romance between her and Prince Harry is alive and thriving—even after nearly a decade together.
In a heartfelt and humorous conversation on The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, Meghan opened up about motherhood, career, and, most adorably, her relationship with Prince Harry. And if you thought royal romance had faded, think again.
She sweetly compared Harry to a beloved video game character, saying, “I always think about it like the end of Super Mario Bros. When you get to the final final level and they say, ‘Slay the dragon, save the princess.’ I’m like, that’s my husband.”
Meghan didn’t hold back in praising Harry’s love and support, especially after everything they’ve faced together. “It’s not something to be taken for granted when you have a partner, a spouse, who is just so behind you,” she said.
“H, that man loves me so much”
Now parents to two children—Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3—the couple has been through a whirlwind of changes since marrying in 2018. From royal duties to stepping back from them, their relationship has grown stronger with time. Meghan revealed that while most couples start off with butterflies, they were thrown “into the trenches together” within six months of dating.
Fast-forward seven years, and the Duchess says they’re finally getting a chance to breathe—and it feels like a new beginning. “That’s why I feel like it’s more of a honeymoon period for us now,” she said.
As for Harry, Meghan shared that he’s
“constantly going to do whatever he can to make sure that our family is safe and protected, and we’re uplifted—and still make time for date nights”
Royal love story or not, we love to see a couple that’s genuinely in love, supportive, and committed—Mario metaphors and all.
