Indie pop-rock duo Good Boy Daisy are back and more unapologetically confident than ever with their latest single, “Supermodel.” Released on Friday, the track is the sibling act’s second drop of the year, following the vibrant and electronic-leaning “Running from the Headlines.”

“Supermodel” tackles the all-too-familiar territory of flirtation—but with a clever twist. The narrator brushes off a timid admirer, not out of cruelty, but clarity: the bar is high. She’s holding out for someone who’s either rich, ridiculously attractive—or both. It’s not arrogance, it’s self-worth.

Musically, the track balances contrast and chemistry. The bass line bounces with energy while the percussion sinks lower, giving the song a textured push and pull. Buzzing guitar riffs creep into the chorus, amplifying the attitude, while Dylinn Mayes’s synth-driven bridge, built on handclaps and groove, gives it bite. Meanwhile, Hallie Mayes’s vocal delivery evolves—from casual cool to commanding presence—eventually overpowering the subtle masculine backing vocals and taking full control of the narrative.

Despite singing about someone who doesn’t quite measure up, “Supermodel” doesn’t feel dismissive—it feels empowering. It’s a song about knowing your worth and not settling. With each release, Good Boy Daisy continues to sharpen their voice, sound, and attitude.

“Supermodel” proves they’re not just chasing a dream—they’re defining what they want and not afraid to wait for it.
