Karuna Mazzocchi, CEO of Coronis Group, is rapidly reshaping the future of real estate in Australia. In just under two years at the helm, her influence has transformed Coronis from a successful independent operation into a disruptive, national force within the industry.
At the heart of this transformation is a bold new partnership franchise model. Introduced under Mazzocchi’s leadership, the structure allows agents to tailor their career journeys while receiving essential back-end support in areas like marketing, accounting, recruitment, and administration.
“We didn’t want to do what every other brand was doing,” Mazzocchi explains. “We knew we had to be different to disrupt the industry and improve for our clients”
Since launching the model in 2023, Coronis Group has established 15 new real estate enterprises across Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia. By allowing entrepreneurial agents to transition into business ownership under the Coronis brand, the group has not only expanded rapidly but also strengthened its ability to attract and retain top talent.
This success has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Mazzocchi was named Most Influential Woman in Property at the REA Excellence Awards, a recognition of her commitment to fostering diversity, promoting women in leadership, and building strong support systems across the industry. Judges praised her for empowering women in a traditionally male-dominated field and inspiring other businesses to embrace inclusive hiring and promotion practices.
A Career Built on People and Performance
Mazzocchi’s rise through the real estate ranks is a story of determination, adaptability, and exceptional leadership. After beginning her career in retail, she joined Coronis Group 21 years ago, drawn by the clear connection between hard work, personal accountability, and success in real estate.
By age 25, she had already opened and led her own Coronis agency, gaining deep expertise across every aspect of the business. Over the following years, she expanded her leadership to oversee seven offices and more than 90 team members, before being appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2017.
In 2023, she took the helm as CEO, bringing a hands-on, people-first approach to an organisation that now spans 400 staff members and an executive team of 10. Her leadership style—marked by problem-solving, mentorship, and a relentless focus on team success—has helped numerous offices achieve record performances.
“I’m constantly looking at how to help others succeed and achieve their ambitions within the property sector,” Mazzocchi says. “Whether that’s working with someone in administration, helping an agent open a new office under our franchise model, or speaking with brokers about their goals, the role demands constant communication, support, and problem-solving.”

The Coronis Group Legacy
Founded more than 40 years ago, Coronis Group began as a small, local real estate agency. Today, it stands as one of the most respected names in Australian real estate, managing more than 10,000 rental properties and building the second-largest privately owned rent roll in the country.
Beyond sales and property management, Coronis Group operates two registered training organisations, a mortgage brokerage, and three conveyancing businesses—providing a seamless, end-to-end experience for buyers, sellers, and landlords.
Despite the challenges of a cost-of-living and housing crisis, the mortgage and finance arms of the business have seen remarkable growth—reporting a 53% increase in the past financial year—as Australians increasingly seek expert advice and support.
What’s Next for Coronis Group
Mazzocchi’s vision for the future of Coronis Group extends far beyond expansion. She plans to introduce stronger succession planning, helping ensure businesses thrive even as founders transition to retirement. Her broader goal remains clear: real estate is not just about property transactions, but about people, relationships, and helping others build sustainable, independent wealth.
“My goal is to ensure Coronis continues to blaze a trail for the property sector with the partnership and franchise model,” Mazzocchi says.
“We want to create opportunities for team members to achieve their dreams of business ownership and financial independence”
With her dynamic leadership, there’s little doubt Karuna Mazzocchi and Coronis Group are just getting started. If you haven’t yet seen their teal logo in your neighborhood, it might only be a matter of time.
