Could this be the song of the summer? The duo returns after the chart-topping magic of “I Had Some Help.”
Morgan Wallen and Post Malone are teaming up once again—this time with a fresh new single that might just soundtrack your entire summer. The song, titled “I Ain’t Comin’ Back,” is set to be released this Friday, April 18, and fans are already buzzing with anticipation.
Announced on Tuesday (April 15), the collaboration marks the second time the country-pop power duo has joined forces, following the massive success of last year’s “I Had Some Help.” That track dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks straight and earned Grammy nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Now, Wallen and Malone are aiming to recreate that magic—with a twist.
The new release aligns perfectly with Wallen’s rollout for his upcoming album I’m the Problem, dropping May 16. The project already includes fan-favorite singles like “Lies Lies Lies,” “Just in Case,” and “Love Somebody.” Wallen has also teased a mystery duet with a female artist on the album, but he’s keeping her identity under wraps—at least for now.
While Wallen readies his album, Post Malone has his own plans in motion. Ahead of his Coachella weekend one performance, he revealed to Billboard that he’s deep into a new project of his own. “I’ve made probably 35 songs — it’s just a matter of which ones rock, and which ones sock,” Malone joked. The genre-bending artist has been making creative pilgrimages to Nashville, collaborating with hitmakers like ERNEST, HARDY, and more.
“We just have fun,” Posty said of the laid-back songwriting sessions. “We just sit and f—ing talk and make songs. And so I’m pretty excited for the new record already”
Between Wallen’s storytelling and Malone’s versatility, “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” has all the makings of a crossover hit. Whether you’re a country fan, a pop lover, or somewhere in between, mark your calendars—this one’s coming in hot.
