Solrise Soars: The Private Jet Concept That Redefines In-Flight Luxury

Forget what you know about business jets—Solrise is here to disrupt the sky-high status quo. Dreamed up by San Antonio-based designer Natalie Rodriguez, the concept turns the spacious interior of a Boeing BBJ 787-8 into a transformative airborne sanctuary, rivaling the most elegant boutique hotels on earth. It’s not just a jet. It’s an immersive experience, designed with presence, peace, and power in mind.

With 2,458 square feet of blank canvas to work with, Rodriguez envisioned a space that wasn’t about spectacle, but about sublime presence. Her inspiration? A sunrise—renewing, warm, and quietly epic. The result? A jet interior that feels more like a calming modern villa than an aircraft. Upon entering, passengers are welcomed into the Solrise main lounge featuring four divan seats and four fully articulating, residential-inspired accent chairs. Contemporary neutral fabrics and wood veneer are contrasted with deep olive-juniper accents, dark Emperador marble, and antiqued metalwork to evoke a refined and grounded elegance. Rodriguez plays with organic textures and an earth-toned palette to ground the experience, while ambient lighting—tucked into ceiling coves, beneath seats, and even around doorframes—creates a layered, almost cinematic sense of serenity.

Every inch of Solrise speaks to thoughtful luxury, but it’s the coffee bar—yes, a full-service coffee bar—that may win over even the most seasoned travelers. Located toward the rear of the jet, the bar serves as the centerpiece of a combined entertainment and meeting space, transforming into a cocktail lounge by night. With high-end finishes and a residential feel, the space manages to make caffeine glamorous and business meetings stylishly unstuffy.

Then there’s the primary suite, a masterclass in sky-high opulence. A king-size bed is anchored by a ribbed panel headboard, backed by a halo-like ceiling structure that reflects soft, shifting light. Ten oversized windows bathe the space in natural light by day, while Alcantara valances allow full control when it’s time to rest. A large digital screen, live plants, merino wool and silk carpets, and tactile finishes like velvet and marble all contribute to the sense that this jet isn’t just for travel—it’s for transformation.

With a base cost of $239 million, the BBJ 787-8 is built for VVIPs and heads of state, but Solrise shows what private aviation could look like when creativity is unbound by traditional constraints. Rodriguez hasn’t simply created a jet interior—she’s designed a sanctuary at 40,000 feet, where hospitality and high design meet above the clouds. Solrise isn’t just a statement. It’s a reminder that in the right hands, even a jet can feel like home.
