Donovan Mitchell isn’t just chasing rings this season—he’s doing it in comfort and style.

Before the 2024–2025 NBA season tipped off, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ six-time All-Star guard teamed up with Skims, the lifestyle and underwear brand founded by Kim Kardashian, to headline a campaign that brought sleek, athletic comfort courtside. Mitchell, dressed in Skims boxer briefs, was captured lounging in the locker room, a clear symbol of a player ready to launch into action.

“The first campaign with Skims was a great experience,” Mitchell said. “Shooting at the arena right before the season started, I was just gearing up to get to work”

Now, with the postseason in full swing, Mitchell has reunited with the brand—this time trading the locker room vibe for the intensity of playoff energy. In a fresh campaign spotlighting Skims’ Cotton and Stretch collections, he’s seen mid-shot under the hoop, locked in and game-ready. “The difference this time is the timing—it aligns with the biggest stretch of our season, so the energy feels more focused and in the moment,” Mitchell explains.

“I’m locked in for the postseason, and Skims is locked in with me”

Skims became the NBA’s official underwear partner in 2023, a bold collaboration that continues to make sense—especially for athletes like Mitchell, who are all about functionality. The brand’s Cotton and Stretch boxers blend loungewear comfort with athletic flexibility, making them ideal for elite performance.

“Comfort is everything—especially in the playoffs when your body’s going through it,” Mitchell shares. “The Cotton and Stretch collections are part of my routine now. They help me stay comfortable and focused, even during the most intense parts of the season”

His go-to: the 5-inch Cotton and Stretch boxers. “They move like a second skin,” Mitchell says. “If I’m adjusting gear mid-game or feeling restricted, that’s a distraction. Skims eliminated all that.”

But this collaboration is about more than just performance underwear—it’s symbolic of a franchise resurgence.

When Mitchell was traded to the Cavaliers in 2022, Cleveland was still reeling from LeBron James’ second departure. The Cavs had been playoff-absent since his exit and fans were stuck reminiscing about the glory days. But Mitchell’s arrival flipped the narrative. In his first season, he led the team to 51 wins and their first playoff appearance in years. In year two, a playoff series win. Now, in his third season, the Cavs have not only recorded the best regular-season record in the East but also achieved franchise-firsts—including a 16-game win streak and the second-best offensive rating in NBA history.

    Not even LeBron did that.

Mitchell’s contributions are more than stats—they represent a new identity. And while his on-court skills play the lead role, his Skims gear helps keep him sharp. “We go from shootaround to tip-off to team travel, and having underwear that works through it all just simplifies things,” he says.

“Skims fits into every part of the day, and that kind of consistency helps keep my focus where it needs to be—on winning”

Despite being born and raised in New York, Mitchell has long had a connection to Cleveland. He was in the crowd when LeBron famously announced his first departure in 2010. “Full circle. I was that kid watching history unfold, and now I’ve got a chance to write a new chapter for this city,” he reflects.

    What would a championship—without LeBron—mean for Cleveland?

“Bringing a title back to Cleveland would mean everything,” Mitchell says. “This city shows up. They deserve that moment, and we’re grinding to make it happen”

Still, Mitchell hasn’t forgotten his New York roots. A diehard Mets fan—his father worked with the team for over two decades—he teases the idea of a Mets-Skims collab next. “That would be a fire collab. Those are my guys,” he says. “We’ll see what happens. But you never know—Skims has a way of making big things happen.”

For now, Skims is focused on supporting Donovan Mitchell’s playoff push—and he’s focused on bringing Cleveland its first post-LeBron title. Comfortable. Locked in. Ready to win.
